Young adults receiving individual support or community assistance packages, those who are leaving the child protection system and 2013 school leavers will be prioritised in the first year.
Australian Capital Territory (ACT)
Launch will commence in the ACT from July 2014. More than 5,000 people will benefit from the scheme when it is rolled out across the Territory by July 2016.
Northern Territory (NT)
Launch will commence in the Barkly region of the NT from July 2014, with details on the number of people who will benefit currently being finalised with the NT government. This will provide valuable information on delivering individualised support in remote Australia.
Each launch site will have a specific process to phase in participants to DisabilityCare Australia.
Details of the phasing-in process will be on the DisabilityCare Australia website (www.ndis.gov.au) when launch commences.
