Appendix A: Agency Outcome Statements

This appendix provides the Outcomes managed by each agency. It assists understanding Table 1.1.

Outcome statements articulate Government objectives and serve three main purposes:

• to explain the purposes for which annual appropriations are approved by the Parliament for use by Commonwealth entities;
• to provide a basis for budgeting and reporting against the use of appropriated funds; and
• to measure and assess agency and program non‑financial performance in contributing to Government policy objectives.

All Commonwealth agencies within the General Government Sector have at least one outcome statement.
